A Bathing Ape and Sneaker News have partnered on a limited Bape Sta collaboration drawing from 1990s New York outdoor culture. Two colorways—"Day" and "Night"—arrive May 6 via StockX, each featuring a first-ever triple-stacked Sta logo and retailer branding.

The Bape Sta has cycled through enough iterations to anchor its place in the broader sneaker canon, yet collaborations that ground the silhouette in specific cultural moments remain scarce. This latest partnership anchors the model to early-90s New York—a period when outdoor workwear aesthetics bled into streetwear vernacular and defined a generation's visual language.
Two distinct colorways frame the collection. The "Day" edition arrives in crisp white, limited to 1,386 pairs, with design language meant to evoke the shifting quality of daylight across the city's skyline. Its counterpart, the "Night" colorway in grey, caps production at just 556 pairs and references the extended hours that define New York's 24-hour pulse. Both employ a design first for the Bape Sta: triple-stacked logos on the lateral ankle, a detail that amplifies the silhouette's signature visual weight.
Design touches extend beyond the primary graphic. Sneaker News branding appears on the lateral heel, while Collector Club detailing lands on the tongue—minor touches that signal this as a limited, curated release rather than a standard collaboration.
Release Strategy
The drop follows a carefully staged rollout. StockX opens access globally on May 6 at noon ET, giving the partnership's worldwide audience a synchronized entry point. A New York flagship release follows on May 8, anchored by a two-day pop-up at 70 Hester Street (May 8–9) powered by StockX, rooting the collection in its geographic and cultural origin.
Retail sits at $349 per pair—a price point consistent with premium Bape Sta releases and justified by the scarcity attached to both colorways.
