Nike Kobe Draft Day T-Shirt Pack Drops June 26
Nike is translating its Kobe Draft Day footwear narrative into a blind-bag apparel collection, with fourteen tees tied to the thirteen NBA franchises that passed on Kobe Bryant before the Lakers selected him in 1996. Each shirt arrives sealed and unmarked, with the colorway and design revealed only upon opening.

The concept that drove Nike Basketball's Kobe 4 Protro footwear release is now extending into the closet. Rather than simply pairing matching shoes with generic team-branded tees, Nike has engineered a collection that captures the same historical specificity and narrative weight as the shoes themselves—each garment a direct reference to draft night's turning point.
The collection comprises fourteen tees total. Thirteen correspond to the lottery teams that overlooked Bryant; the fourteenth honors the Charlotte Hornets (who held the first pick) and the Los Angeles Lakers (who ultimately secured him at number thirteen). The design language is deliberately restrained: each shirt takes on the primary color of its respective franchise, with "KOBE" rendered in varsity-style lettering pulled from the team's secondary palette. A draft board-inspired graphic element and numbered positioning (one through thirteen) appear on the lower left, grounding the design in the specific moment being commemorated.

The Blind-Bag Element
What distinguishes this release from standard team merchandise is the packaging strategy. Each tee ships inside an anti-static sealed bag bearing the Kobe logo, obscuring the design completely. Buyers won't know which team they're receiving until purchase. This gamification mirrors the original footwear drop and forces a moment of genuine surprise—rare in an era of digital product previews.

Nike has published full allocation breakdowns for each colorway. The Lakers edition comprises 8% of total stock, making it the most readily available despite historical precedent typically favoring scarcity around Bryant's Los Angeles legacy. The remaining percentages are distributed across the thirteen bypassed franchises, with rarer editions likely commanding secondary-market premiums.
