The Freestyle, originally positioned in the 1980s as one of the first performance shoes engineered specifically for women athletes, assumes a distinctly refined character under CELINE's direction. Rather than chase heritage nostalgia, the collaboration strips the silhouette to its essentials, focusing on material elevation and restrained execution.
Each CELINE x Reebok Freestyle pair features premium lambskin leather uppers paired with intentional scuffing and distressing—a technique that signals luxury through wear rather than newness. The co-branded tongue labels reference the archival Reebok Classic logo, a subtle nod that acknowledges the shoe's lineage without overwhelming the design. Notably, the collaboration removes Reebok's signature strike logo entirely, allowing the refined construction to command visual attention.
During CELINE's Spring/Summer 2027 menswear presentation at Paris Fashion Week, three colorways made their runway debut. The brand has since clarified that the pre-aged aesthetic shown during presentation will not carry through to retail—pairs will arrive in pristine condition, allowing the wearer to develop their own patina.
